How to manually install liveries?

First of all, try using our livery manager which can be downloaded from www.commerciallevel.com and then click DOWNLOADS. If for some reason the livery manager doesnt work, or is not compatible with your product, install the liveries manually.

To install manually, you first have to download the liveries from our website. We take the 747 as example thus we download them from: http://www.commerciallevel.org/index.php?dir=747/liveries/

We click the 747-200 folder and download B742ANA.zip

We unzip the zip file in a temporary location. We see a folder named texture.ana and a text file appear. We copy the folder named texture.xx in our case texture.ana (the prefix texture means this folder includes the bitmaps for the livery).

Open the text file named installerinfo.txt and look at the line that says PRODUCT FOLDER. It says this needs to be in the 747-200, with GE engines.

Navigate to your installation of Flightsim. First we describe FS9. Open the folder named AIRCRAFT and look for CLS_B742_200_GE, open that folder and paste the texture.ana in here.

For FSX, look for the folder named SimObjects, and open Airplanes. Now again look for the CLS_B742_200_GE folder, and paste the texture.ana folder in there.

Inside this folder you will also see AIRCRAFT.CFG file. Open it with notepad or WORD or any other text editor. This is the same for FS9 and FSX. You will see several (ranging from none to more then 10) entries of liveries. They all start with [fltsimXX] where XX is a number. For instance, [fltsim0] [fltsim1] etc. Find the highest number (or the last entry in other words).

Now we go back to installerinfo.txt, copy the entire section which is in there, and paste it under the last entry in the aircraft.cfg. Note here that a livery entry ends with DESCRIPTION, so copy it under the description part of the last entry.

One last thing to do, change the [fltsim.XX] (the first line of the section you just copied over), to a number which is 1 higher then the last entry. So if the last entry is [fltsim5], rename the newbie to [fltsim6]. If there are no fltsim entries yet, start with 0.

Save the file. And we are done!
