Exactly the same thing is happening to me, the shop i bought it from won't let me refund or exchange it so please help.

What video card do you have?
Do you have the latest drivers?
How is your RAM made up. Is it a twin matched pair?
Is this FS9 or FSX?
The first thing that springs to mind is that you are a bit low on RAM. FS9 would be better with a gig, and FSX with even more.
Albert, did you suggest in the past changing monitor resolution?
Also, You can download the WINDOWS MEMORY DIAGNOSTIC TEST from Microsoft to test your ram. I've not tried this myself, but CTDs can be a ram issue.
Also, check you CPU temperature. If the heat sink gets filled with dust, the CPU could get to an unstable temperature.
