Hi
I like CLS's 767! Fun to fly.
question: when I am at the gate, cockpit is cold and dark, I still have lots of noise (seems like engine sounds to me). How can I get rid of this?

thx
Martin

As more people find this annoying, I will see if there is an easy way to get rid of it.

there is an easy way :)

############################################
This is only valid for SP2 and earlier !
############################################

you need to edit the sound.cfg for each plane, for FSX, they can be found in

../SimObjects/Airplanes/CLS_763_GE/sound.GE/
../SimObjects/Airplanes/CLS_763_PW/sound.PW/
../SimObjects/Airplanes/CLS_763_RR/sound.RR/

change the following entries as shown below (you need to add the // )

[JET_WHINE.1.00]
filename=767system
flags=0
viewpoint=1
// rparams=0.0,1.0
// vparams=0.0,200.0
link=JET_WHINE.1.01

[JET_WHINE.1.01]
filename=767apu-in
flags=0
viewpoint=1
// rparams=0.4,1.0
// vparams=0.0,150.0
link=JET_WHINE.1.02

and

[JET_WHINE.2.00]
filename=767system
flags=0
viewpoint=1
// rparams=0.0,1.0
// vparams=0.0,200.0
link=JET_WHINE.2.01

[JET_WHINE.2.01]
filename=767apu-in
flags=0
viewpoint=1
// rparams=0.4,1.0
// vparams=0.0,150.0
link=JET_WHINE.2.02

I would also suggest to change the volume of the wind sounds, can be found further below in each sound.cfg, change the value maximum_volume as shown below (default was 200000 ! )

[wind_sound]
filename=767wind
minimum_volume=01
maximum_volume=8000
minimum_rate=0.10
maximum_rate=1.20
minimum_speed=100.0
maximum_speed=275.0
Greetings

Hello,

I do not like the sounds at the gate with engines off as well. I've tried what you have suggested here and still have the sounds even though I've commented the suggested lines out.

I'm using SP3 on this model.

I'm updated to SP3 and I still have the loud sounds at the gate with engines off

I've noticed that the loud sound it's playing when at the gate with engines off is the "Idle.wav" sound file. This makes it a little more bearable to deal with once I deleted this file but it still doesn't sound right at the gate with engines shut off.

yes, I'm using the 767-300/200 PW United Colors

Just an update: I loaded one of the models with the GE's and this sound isn't present when engines are shut off.

there are three different sound packs, one for each engine variant, it seems that there still is a problem with the PW soundpack, I can send you an updated sound.cfg for you to test.

sounds great

I'm circumvented the problem by just copying the GE sound folder. It got rid of the sounds at the gate but was just a temporary fix. I'd really like to use the correct sounds for the engines.
